Page sequence and rotation

Organize the document by its logic, not by thumbnail appearance alone

This workspace rebuilds a PDF from the page order you type and can rotate the selected pages by one angle. It is designed for structural cleanup: reorder, omit, duplicate intentionally or rotate pages. It does not edit page text.

Write the final page map first

For a simple file, a sequence such as 3,1,2 is enough. For a larger packet, define sections before you type anything: cover, application, evidence, appendix. This makes missing pages easier to notice.

Example: 1-4,7,5-6 keeps pages 1–4, moves page 7 forward, then adds pages 5–6.

A page omitted from the order is removed from the new copy.

Three checks before rebuilding the file

Check physical file position

The viewer may say PDF page 12 while the number printed on that page says 7. Page tools work from the actual file order.

Check two-sided scans

Make sure the back of a card, form or signed page is not accidentally omitted.

Check document features

Rebuilding pages can affect signatures, form workflows or other document-level features. Preserve the original.

Rotation fixes orientation, not scan quality

A 90° or 180° rotation can make a sideways page readable. It does not deskew a page photographed at a slight angle, sharpen blurred text or improve OCR. Those are separate tasks.

A reliable review after organizing

  1. Compare the new page count with the count you expected.
  2. Check the first and last page of each section.
  3. Look for accidental duplicates around section boundaries.
  4. Confirm every rotated page faces the intended direction.
  5. Open the original and new copy side by side when the packet matters.

Where organization goes wrong

The printed numbers look out of order
Printed numbering can differ from PDF file order. Verify thumbnails and section headings rather than relying on the printed footer alone.
A blank page disappeared
Some blank pages are intentional for duplex printing or section separation. Decide whether the blank is structural before omitting it.
A signed file now shows a different validation status
Changing page structure changes the document. Use the signed original when signature validation matters.
The page is still tilted
Rotation only changes orientation in 90° increments. A skewed scan needs deskewing or rescanning.

File handling

The page order and rotation are processed inside your browser with PDF-Lib. The selected PDF is not uploaded to PDFNexa. Save the organized result under a new filename and keep the source until the final packet has been checked.
