Visible typed signature
Know what this Sign tool is — and what it is not
This workspace places typed signature text on one PDF page. It creates a visible mark. It does not verify identity, create an audit trail, use a digital certificate, or provide a universal legal-validity guarantee.
Visible mark
A typed name placed where a recipient has explicitly said that format is acceptable.
E-signature platform
A service may add identity checks, consent records, timestamps, reminders and audit evidence.
Digital signature
Certificate-based cryptography can help verify signer identity and detect later document changes.
Choose the assurance level before adding the mark
For an internal acknowledgement or routine approval, a visible typed signature may be enough if the recipient accepts it. For regulated, high-value, government, court, employment or other formal documents, ask the receiving organization which signing method it requires.
The visible appearance is not proof of identity by itself.
A typed name can show intent in context, but this tool does not authenticate who typed it.
Placement workflow
- Read the entire document and confirm it is the expected version.
- Check whether the PDF already contains a certificate-based signature.
- Type the signature text using supported Latin characters.
- Choose page, size and position.
- Download the result and inspect placement at normal and high zoom.
Do not modify an already signed document casually
If a signature panel shows an existing digital signature, changing the PDF can alter its validation state. When corrections are needed, the cleanest workflow is usually to return to an unsigned source, make the correction, and sign the final version again.
When the recipient rejects the file
Ask what evidence they require. They may need a certificate, an approved platform, a witness, identity verification or an audit trail. Repeating a visible typed signature will not create those missing assurances.
Legal effect depends on context
Electronic-signature rules vary by jurisdiction, transaction type, intent, consent and the evidence surrounding the process. This site does not determine whether a particular visible mark satisfies a legal or organizational requirement.

The selected PDF is read and modified in your browser using PDF-Lib. PDFNexa does not receive the document or signature text. Keep the unsigned source and final signed copy separately.
